Domain Registration

    I just registered my domain with another provider. Do you recommend transferring registration to WordPress or mapping it for now?

    Hey Ghuloum,

    The one main advantage of transferring your domain vs mapping it is having everything under one roof when it comes renewals, support, etc. However, there are no technical benefits or anything of the sort in regards to a domain transfer vs. migration.

    Depending on who you purchased your domain through, it may not meet the requirements to be transferred. Most registrars put a 60-day lock on new domains to prevent transfers. If that’s the case, you could map your domain for the next 60 days and then revisit the transfer once your domain becomes eligible.
