  Help!!! My site says that I cannot purchase because of my domain being expired.
  You are no longer a user on … and cannot manage this purchase. I am trying to purchase and have updated my payment information to get the site back up ASAP.

  Hi @jreddingd1, I’ve split your comment into a new forum thread. This way the original poster won’t get unwanted notifications, and staff will be able to focus on your account.

  I noticed you do indeed have a domain for a site that you were removed from at some point.

  If you want to create a new site, we can help you restore the domain to that. Or you can work with the current site owners to get yourself re-added. What would you like to do?

  I take that back, re: redemption. It hasn’t entered redemption yet but we’ll still want to hurry and sort this out.

  Let us know whether you’d like to

  1. Create a new site and have use help you restore the domain to that

  or

  2. Contact the old site owners about being re-added to the site, then try to re-add the domain.

  You can also do 1 then 2, or 1 then transfer ownership to the current site owners.

  Let us know what you have in mind.

  I want to do the easiest way to have the domain reactivated and load the wordpress site you have on file to the domain. I do not have the files. I thought I was in fact the site owner (not sure) but it just needs to be restored ASAP.

  Your domain friendsofbenjaminbanneker.com expired on July 2. We sent several email warnings before it expired.

  Domain expiration is a lengthy and complicated process that takes about 90 days. You can learn more about expired domains here: https://wordpress.com/support/domains/domain-expiration/

  The good news is that we are still able to recover your domain, as it is currently in the Grace period: https://wordpress.com/support/domains/domain-expiration/#grace-period

  You’ll need to pay the regular $18 renewal price before we can recover the domain.

  I have sent a payment request for the total of $18 to the email address on your account. Once the payment is sent, please reply here to let us know, and we will send a note to our domain partner regarding friendsofbenjaminbanneker.com. This process only takes about 2-3 days start to finish.

  Sorry, I sent that too quick, forgot to address the other part.

  The owners of the site the domain was attached to did remove you from the site.

  We can recover the domain, but for it to work under the site again, they’ll have to add you back to the site: https://wordpress.com/support/user-roles/#adding-users-to-your-site

  I have made this payment. Please let me know the next steps and when the site owners can add me back to the site. Is there any way the site can be made to work on your end so it is live even if they do not add me?
