  Hi, I registered a domain with your website and once I had purchased it and the website builder plan I realised that it is not fit for my purpose and decided to create the website my self. I am now no longer able to register just the domain as it states its still registered. Can I get into contact with someone who can release it? Thanks

  Hi, when you cancel a new domain it will go into holding for a bit. Please let us know which of these options works best for you:

  Wait: You can wait about five days for the domain to be released. So long as no one else buys it before you do, you can purchase it again here or with another provider.

  Repurchase the Domain: We can send an invoice and restore the domain. You’ll be able to point it to a new host as soon as it’s restored, then transfer the registration after 60 days.

  Repurchase a Plan: To host your site here after all, buy a plan, skip the domain option, then update us here.

  Hi,

  Do you have an estimated time on the release? I would go with wordpress but other websites offer the first year free or at 0.99p, whereas wordpress is full price.

  I’m sorry, the 5-day period is not available for .uk domains, this is not a policy we have control over.

  These go through the standard expiration process: https://wordpress.com/support/domains/domain-expiration/

  Your best option would be to restore it here while we can still recover it. Would you like me to send the payment request for that?

  Hi, how much would this cost for the first year and what about every year after. Am I able to provide a host with the domain so they can host the website?

  It would cost $18 to recover the domain: https://wordpress.com/support/domains/domain-pricing-and-available-tlds/

  After that, you can renew it with us each year for $18, or transfer it to your domain registrar of choice: https://wordpress.com/support/move-domain/transfer-domain-registration/

  Payment received, and hayscomputers.co.uk has been recovered! :)

  You can direct the domain anywhere you’d like by changing its name servers: https://wordpress.com/support/move-domain/change-name-servers/

  And, after 60 days (a policy imposed on all domain registrar by ICANN), you can transfer the domain to another registrar if you want to: https://wordpress.com/support/move-domain/transfer-domain-registration/
