Domain registration cancel then Premium upgrade purchase

Hi,
I canceled a domain registration the same day I bought it, for a Premium upgrade. Why can’t I register the domain I canceled with the Premium upgrade purchase?

Canceling a domain returns it to the registrar partner (Wild West Domains), there are several warnings about this during the process.
Once a domain is canceled, it’s up to the registrar to return it to the market at their discretion, we have no control over it.

Fair enough but your warnings don’t specify what the no guarantee mention relates to. Maybe you guys should add what you’ve included in this response in the future. My understanding was that there were no guarantees of getting the domain back because someone may think of the domain name by the time I decide to register it again. There’s no reasonable way to guess how registrars work or why they would hold it “at their own discretion” in the first place.
