Domain Registration Refund

  Hi,

  My subscription and domain registration were renewed but I need to cancel them as the related project has now finished. I received an email stating that the subscription fee would be refunded but there was no notification that the domain registration fee would be refunded. The old subscriptions don’t expire until the 27th May. Can you advise on the status of the domain registration refund (12EUR).

  Hi there,

  Domain registration/renewal fees are only refundable for 96 hours, as after that point we pay the registry that controls the domain for the renewal. So the domain cost isn’t refundable any more in this case.

  However, I can still restore the domain to your account for you, so you can continue using it until it expires next year. If nothing else, that will ensure that existing links to the site using the domain will still continue to work for a while – if you leave the domain cancelled, those links will all be broken.
