Domain Registration Through WP.Com

  I want to buy a domain through WordPress.Com however, Will this domain work as http://www.domain.com and domain.com and also, Can I add an eMail from “Zoho Mail” to the domain.

  Note again that I will buy it from here, From WordPress.Com

  WordPress.com will strip out the www. for your convenience, and all URLs containing “www” will be redirected to the same content at the URL without it.

  www is an old protocol from back when everything was under separate server hardware. www (www.example.com) was the web server, mail (mail.example.com) was the mail server, ftp (ftp.example.com) was the FTP server, print (print.example.com) was the print server, etc.

  These days, everything is run under the web server, making www. redundant and a waste of four characters.
