Domain registration transfer issues…

  • Unknown's avatar

I initially created my blog at tirenepadget.wordpress.com. I registered tirenepadget.com and mapped this domain.

Then I decided to switch over to a self-hosted site using WordPress.org. I transferred the domain registration (it was successfully completed), however the domain still pointed to tirenepadget.wordpress.com. I thought deleting the wordpress.com site would solve the problem, but now it’s just pointing me to a page telling me the site was deleted.

I then tried going into “My Upgrades” to cancel the “upgrade” and unmap the domain, but when I click “Cancel upgrade” all I get is a blank page. I’m not sure whether this is because my site was deleted, because that domain no longer points to wordpress.com (although it still redirects me to tirenepadget.wordpress.com) or whether it’s because it’s past the 2-day refund period.

And the best part? The wordpress.com help page is telling me that if I need to cancel that “upgrade” after the 2-day refund period, I need to contact support. However, because I used the free version of wordpress.com, there seems to be no way for me to contact support.

Help? Does anyone know how to either solve this, or get in touch with wordpress.com support, so that they can fix it??

I’ve removed the Domain Mapping Upgrade from your account.
