Domain Registration/Mapping Failed During Blog Registration
-
Hi there,
I set up a new blog as eyeswideopen.net, yet the domain mapping failed and I can’t point the domain to the blog. I registered the domain when I registered the blog (hence the eyeswideopendotnet user name), but after registering the blog, I got taken to the domain page where it said “Someone (maybe you?) already registered eyeswideopen.net, but the domain is not pointing to WordPress.com.”
I’ve registered a number of blogs with .com / .nets and so on, and this is the first time this has happened. I definitely registered the domain with wordpress when I registered the new blog, but it appears something has gone wrong with the automatic domain mapping upon registration.
Can you please advise what happened and if we can achieve a resolution?
Thanks,
Hallam

It looks like there may have been some glitch during registration that prevented it from going through.
However, the domain “eyeswideopen.net” should be available for registration now. Can you please try adding it to your blog again, under Settings > Domains.
See here for detailed instructions for registering new domains:
