Domain related question
-
Hi!
First problem, is that I have a registered domain that’s mapped to WordPress [wordtypedesigns.net]. I, inadvertently, removed it from my WordPress account; and so, I’m unable to get to the ‘home page’ to modify the landing page itself [www.wordtypedesigns.net]. I just want to refresh the page to reflect this design [https://mindworkswordtype.wordpress.com].Secondly, assuming that I’ll be unable to ‘retrieve’ control of the domain-site page – can I just cancel my domain registration (saves money), reuse the name on WordPress. That is, is it as simple as decommisioning the domain [wordtypedesigns.net], renaming Mindworkswordtype [https://mindworkswordtype.wordpress.com] to wordtypedesigns.wordpress.com]??

You can map that domain to the site again by following the steps at https://wordpress.com/support/domains/map-existing-domain/
I’m not sure what you mean by the second question though, would you please ellaborate?

Again, thank you. Girst off, the path in my version is somewhat different than what you presented [Upgrade/Domains/Sites/Add Domain/Pay for upgrade]. Why would I want to pay for a subscription when I already do so for a registered domain with WordPress??

Hi @mindworks2021, you’re essentially paying for a hosting plan. We offer free hosting with .wordpress.com or .home.blog subdomains, but if you want to use a custom domain as the site address, we require a Personal Plan or higher.
Our services include SSL hosting, security, maintenance, and support. Or you can choose your own hosting and other services with a free copy of WordPress.
