domain release
-
Last week I purchased the personal plan, and with that a domain. However, when I found out that I wouldn’t be able to upload my own template, I cancelled the subscription (and the domain). I now want to register the same domain with a different host, but it is still unavailable. Does anyone have any idea when it will become available again for registration?

Hi neelgajjar,
thanks for your quick reply, but it doesn’t really answer my question. I have already cancelled my subscription and domain, and would like to know what happens to the domain after that.
Best regards, Iris

Hi there,
Cancelled domains are not released immediately, and it can take anything from a few days to over a year before a cancelled domain becomes available again, if at all. You should never cancel a domain that you still want to use, as there’s no guarantee that you’ll be able to use it again somewhere else in future. Only cancel a domain if you’re completely sure you no longer want it at all.
In this case your domain should be released within another few days, at which point you’ll be able to register it somewhere else. We have no way to manually release a cancelled domain sooner.
