    Hey Christopher,

I am not seeing a live domain affiliated with this WordPress.com account. Could you please give me the URL in question, and I can look into this further for you?

Looking forward to hearing from you. Thanks very much.

    Hi there,

if I look into my account I see ChristopherLaverdure.com but it’s expired.

It looks like I bought it from wordpress/wildwestdomains.com

    Hello again!

This domain, ChristopherLaverdure.com, was once registered with us, but it expired. Because of this, it has entered a redemption period, and it isn’t possible to transfer during this time. I’ve written a request for the registrar to release the domain, so you can purchase it at GoDaddy.

I will let you know when I hear back, but you should also keep an eye out for its availability on GoDaddy.

    Thank you very much.

thanks … please let me know as soon as possible. (how much time do you think? we have trying to launch this website for a little while waiting for that domain lol)

    Hi again!

I totally understand your need for the domain ASAP! I do hope it takes under 72-hours. Although, I’m not entirely sure if the registrar will be impacted by the weekend.

Will you touch base with me on Monday at this time, and I’ll give you a status report?

    I’ll be vigilant!

    Thanks :)

    Hey there!

    Yes, it’s Robyn :)

Because your domain expired, this is the note I received from the registrar, “The domain ChristopherLaverdure.com is currently within a redemption status. We are unable to manually release the domain. The domain will become available for purchase, automatically, between 60-90 days after the initial expiration date.”

Your expiration date was February 15, 2015.

So, you have a couple options…none are that exciting, I realize, but I want you to know your choices:

    1. You could do as the registrar mentioned, and allow the domain to leave redemption so you can repurchase it.
    2. If you want, I can ask the registrar to give us control over the domain again. However, because it’s in the redemption period, this incurs an $80 penalty fee. This fee is charged by the domain registry and is not one which we can waive.

If you do not wish to pay the $80 fee you may let the domain expiration process continue and attempt to register the domain again at the regular price once it has expired completely.

However, if you allow a domain to expire completely, it’s always possible that someone else buy it before you are able.

    3. You can change the domain name for your site. Probably not what you want, but thought I’d throw that out there. You can also get christopherlaverdure with a different extension such as .net, .org, or .co, etc…

Let me know if you have questions about this at all. I’ll help in any way I’m able.
