Domain Renewal

    Hello!

    I tried to renew my domain last night and it’s continuing to show me an error message and says my domain is still expired. Do I have to wait a certain number of days before it kicks back in?

    In the billing section it acknowledges I renewed the domain on 12/9/14, but that I won’t be billed until 12/23/14. So does it not renew until it bills me? If so, is it possible to to have it bill me sooner?

    Hi there,

    It looks like you are not renewing the domain from the correct account. You have two accounts – this one (under the username: tinyfunnywomenfest) with the free trial of Premium. You have another account under a different username/email that with the domain mapping that expired 22 days ago. Please log into that account and renew the domain mapping.

    The one expiring on December 23rd is the Premium free trial.

    I’m confused about this. I have taken over the blog from another person and was given the email address (email visible only to moderators and staff) and the blog address of tinyfunnywomenfest.com. When I received the error message, I clicked through the link provided to renew and my only option was to do the premium trial thing.
    Can you tell me the username and/or email account that this is connected to (or contact them on my behalf if you can’t give out that info) so that we can correct this?

    What exactly did I pay for, if not to renew the domain that I clicked through?

    Hi there,

    So it looks like is the owner of the site added you as an administrator, but did not transfer the actual site or the domain mapping upgrade into your account.

    What you purchased was the free trial of WordPress.com Premium. It is free for 14 days, and you will be charged on the 14th day. The domain mapping is included in the Premium upgrade, but since that upgrade was purchased by other user and is still in that account, I will need confirmation from that user. Would it be possible to have them contact me from their account in this thread?

    Once I get verification, I can add transfer that domain mapping into your account.

    Hi –

    I was able to get in touch with the other administrator and have logged in under that email and renewed the domain.

    I don’t think we need the premium thing – I chose that because it was the only option that was offered to me and being new to WordPress, I thought this was how I renewed the domain mapping.

    I do see that you don’t allow refunds for the premium, is there any chance you would make an exception, or grant a credit for future domain renewals? We use this blog very infrequently, and I would not have chosen the premium trial if I had know that it wouldn’t actually do what I had been led to believe it was doing by clicking on the renewal button.
