    Darnell: I am not looking for upgrade at this time. a just respond to the daily log in warning that my existing domain is about to run out on Monday, March 20 and that I should renew immediately. Just tell me how I do that. Is this sufficient confirmation? Is there a number I can phone? Maybe a confirmation form somewhere? I am anxious to NOT lose my domain and time is running out.     Again, theoldislander is not the username/account that purchased the domain. You must log into the username/account that purchased the domain in order to renew it.

    Is there a number I can phone? Maybe a confirmation form somewhere?

    We do not provide phone support. Only online. But I am sure I can help you here!

    Yes, you should’ve received a transaction id. If you can provide that, it will prove that you own the account that is under the upgrade:

    I will not allow you to lose your domain. We’ll get this sorted out. Do you happen to have own another e-mail address? I could e-mail the address that is associated with the upgrade and you can check for my e-mail under your different accounts. Let me know if that would help.

    Thanks for prompt reply. My son Nicholas James Hume (Nic Hume) set me up with WordPress two years ago (2014). Is it possible he registered the domain in his name? Unfortunately he is out of touch for the next two or three weeks. I have never used anything but “theoldislander” and my password to sign in. You say I should have received “a transaction” – could you explain? This it the first glitch I’ve had with WordPress and I’m impressed with your assurances and confidence that you can lead me – at the age of 92 – back to calm routine. Thanks for your courteous patience.

    I would say that is very possible. If he is the owner, you don’t think he would be able to receive an e-mail from me and just reply that he consents to transferring the upgrade over to your account? I’d be happy to e-mail the account and see if anyone replies.

    My alternative e-mail is (email visible only to moderators and staff). Nic’s cell phone is 250-661-0822. He’s a paramedic who prefers texting to talking – which is why I find it difficult to make quick contact. I don’t have a smart phone and don’t text. I’m sure he will not mind the transfer. He has two e-mail addresses – but again prefers texting so isn’t too swift in replying. They are (email visible only to moderators and staff) and (email visible only to moderators and staff).     Only staff can see the e-mails. Everyone else sees the redacted text. So, I see the e-mails. =)

  • Alright, you should now be able to renew your domain mapping here. You’re attached to the upgrade and it’s under your name, so you should be good to go.

    Will try again Wednesday morning. Have dinner guests right now so best to wait. Wouldn’t mind confirmation charges went through on MasterCard. Also wouldn’t mind advice on upgrading to Premium – always remembering I’m just a plain old plodder blogger and not an ambition one. Thanks again for your patience and help to date,

    At bedtime last night I was still being warned that Domain was about to die in four days. This morning NO WARNING flash so – with fingers crossed – it appears you have guided me to safety. Thank you. Much impressed with WordPress service support. Haven’t yet received confirmation on MasterCard payment but assume it will find its way. Will take a look at premium plan and get back to you.
