Domain renewal
-
I had a hell of a time last year and ended up paying $98 instead of $18 because my domain expired while trying to figure this out. I would like to renew my domain now but it will not let me. The company that is the 3rd party said they cannot help. It is showing as auto renewal through the 3rd party hosting site, but I would like to pay for 5 years. Can anyone help?

I see that you’ve already renewed the domain for another year. If you want to renew it for a few more years, you can do so by going to https://wordpress.com/me/purchases → clicking on the domain, and clicking “Renew now”. You will need to renew and pay separately for each year’s renewal, though.
We have some information about that here: https://wordpress.com/support/domains/#renew-a-domain-name
A couple of notes there:
* If you renew the domain for multiple years, and you later want to cancel the domain to get a refund, you’ll get a refund only for the latest renewal (only one of them).
* If the domain is out of the refund period, we won’t be able to refund. So if you renew for five years, you won’t get a refund if you cancel the domain after a year or two. Please review our refund policy here: https://wordpress.com/support/manage-purchases/#refund-policyLet us know if you have more questions about this.

Hi @seka2017
I’ve used Google Translate to translate your message. You can register a domain for one year at a time. So after you’ve registered your domain, you can follow the instructions here to renew it for another year: https://wordpress.com/support/domains/#renew-a-domain-name
Please check out my answer above to the original poster as those notes apply in your case as well if you renew the domain for multiple years.
If you have more questions, please open a new thread here https://wordpress.com/forums?new=1 so that we can help you.
Regards
