my domain has expired. i am not using wordpress. i’m confused how to resolve the issue so that my squarespace is mapped from marytenslow.com

The domain, marytenslow.com, expired in November and is currently in redemption with our registrar. It should still be possible for me to get it back from them, but they charge a $80 fee to restore a domain from redemption. Please let me know if you agree to that fee, and I can get the process started for you.
If your site is with Squarespace, you don’t need the Personal plan you bought from us in an attempt to get your domain back. And the mapping upgrade you added as part of the plan is useless if the domain is already expired. So please confirm if you want me to cancel and refund those as well.

Are you the same person as marytenslow? Redemption requests can only come from the username who owns a domain, so please confirm as marytenslow if so.

I am marytenslow, yes. Perhaps I was logged into the wordpress that I do not use when posting this.
What happens if I let the domain goes thru the redemption process and then I purchase it for the regular price? I really appreciate your help, but I’m annoyed that wordpress is wanting $80 for me to re-purchase. Just curious what the options might be.

Domain expiration in total takes around 90 days. At the end of the redemption period our registrar will delete and release the domain at which point anyone can register it again. So you can try waiting until the domain is released and then register it as a new domain. But you run the risk of losing the domain if you do that: if your domain is on back order at any other registrar they’ll register it the moment it’s released, and you won’t be able to get it back should that happen.

That is the fee we need to pay to get your domain back from the registrar. That fee is only applied between 18-40 days AFTER a domain expires.
Should I go ahead with the redemption? Or are you going to try and wait for the domain to be released?
I’ve refunded you other purchase in any case. You should receive that refund in about 10 business days.

Okay, I’ve sent you a payment link via email. Once we receive payment I can email our registrar to restore your domain. Depending on the volume on their end your site should be back online within a day or two. In the rare event that the recovery fails, your payment will be refunded in full.
