Please send me a correct link to JUST update my domain purchase fee. I’ve been a customer for five years, this shouldn’t be this complicated.

http://thebalancedpack.wordpress.com/ has not been updated since February 2015 and you did not provide a relevant URL.

What is the exact URL starting with http:// of the site you are referring to please?

This is wordpress.COM support. We cannot answer any questions posted here accurately until we have the relevant URL and have confirmed hosting.

Note that about 30% of those who post here daily are posting to wrong support forum and the answers to wordpress.COM and WordPress.ORG support questions are not the same.

We provide support only for wordpress.COM hosted sites. We cannot provide support for sites that are not on our servers. Our support docs do not apply to
    (1) local installs of wordpress.ORG software on your own server or
    (2) wordpress.ORG software installs on paid hosting, and we do not provide support for them at wordpress.COM. That support is found at http://wordpress.ORG/support/
    (3) sites linked to wordpress.COM accounts with the Jetpack plugin so they display on the My Sites wordpress.com account page. That support is found at http://jetpack.com/support/

WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, support docs and support forums, run different theme versions of themes with the same names, and many people get confused about the two. Read the differences here http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

The wordpress.ORG support forums are at http://wordpress.org/support. The wordpress.ORG login link is here https://login.wordpress.org/ If you do not have an account yet then click Create an account https://login.wordpress.org/register/ and if you have lost an account password click Lost password? https://login.wordpress.org/lostpassword/

http://Www.thebalancedpack.net was a domain purchased and renewed through this website. In 2015 I switched to squarespace and continued my domain through WordPress. I have received zero emails regarding the state of my WordPress account and now my site is completely unrenewable? It has not only brought my site down, but my email that is connected to my domain as well. This is ridiculous, HOW do I renew this god forsaken domain, or transfer it away from you to open market, or am I stuck with 129$ renewal fee and some bogus plan

thebalancedpack.net is registered through WordPress.COM (wild west domains) and is in the redemption Period.

    Allowing a domain to expire
When you allow your domain expire, it then goes through a process that can take several months to complete described at https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/domain-expiration/.

If you are in the grace period you will not have to agree to pay a redemption fee set by the domain name registrar that wordpress.COM staff cannot waive.

Otherwise, if you want Staff to try to recover the domain for you then you will have to agree to pay the redemption fee.

This thread is tagged this thread in the sidebar with modlook for Staff attention.

If you’re logged into the account that is associated with your expired domain, they will look up its status and get in touch with details.

If you are not logged in under the correct username account then clear your browser cache https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-your-browser-cache and cookies https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-wordpress-com-cookies prior to logging into the associated account, and provide the domain URL here.

  • Hello –

Thank you for the tag, timethief!

This domain, expired back on April 17th and is now in redemption as previously mentioned. I will be happy to reach out to our domain partner to try and recover the domain for you. To do this, our domain partner charges an $80 redemption fine. Note, that this is not our fine to waive, it comes directly from them.

If you agree to the redemption payment please let me know asap and I’ll send a note to our domain partner to get the process started. Next, I’ll send you an email with a secure payment link. The whole process typically takes less than 48 hours if the domain is able to be redeemed. If for some reason we can’t redeem the domain you would not need to pay.

Alternatively, you can wait out the redemption period and in a few months your domain will become available again for new registration. There will not be any kind of notification to you or us when that happens, and if you’re not the first person to try and register the domain you will lose ownership – this is not an ideal path forward. You would need to check the domain status every day until it becomes available.

Please check the email address listed on your account at wordpress.com/me/account/ That is where the renewal notifications are delivered. It’s also a good idea to double check the card on file, as it may have expired, causing the renewal to fail.
