Domain renewal

  The renewal of my domain has expired. How can I renew it? The domain is listed in my account settings yet I didn’t receive an email about it but a former colleague did, even though the domain is no longer listed in her WordPress account, but is in mine.

  When a domain expires, it then goes through a process that can take several months to complete described at https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/domain-expiration/.

  If you are in the grace period you will not have to agree to pay a redemption fee set by the domain name registrar that wordpress.COM staff cannot waive.

  Otherwise, if you want Staff to try to recover the domain for you then you will have to agree to pay the redemption fee.

  If you’re logged into the account that is associated with your expired domain, they will look up its status and get in touch with details.

  If you are not logged in under the correct username account then clear your browser cache https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-your-browser-cache and cookies https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-wordpress-com-cookies prior to logging into the associated account, and provide the domain URL here.

  Hi –

  Please let me know which domain you need to renew. There’s no a history of any being connected to the user account you’ve contacted us from.

  psn2016.wordpress.com appears under ‘Primary site’ in my account settings. The domain name is psn2016.org.uk (I’m not sure of the difference between these, i.e. which is the domain name?) It was switched from Catherine Foxwell’s account to mine (it no longer appears in her account), and she has since left the University.

  psn2016.org.uk is able to be registered as new. You’ll do that by clicking on My Sites > Domains > Add New

  Let me know if you have any trouble with getting it added.
