    Hi – I have updated my billing information for my domain to be renewed – buhazl.com
    How long does it take for the site to get back up and running?

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hello @laticiaxoxo,

    I first tried to check the hosting provider for your buhazl.com site, I wasn’t able to retrieve enough information from my source.

    Also, we as volunteers cannot provide more information on billing related concerns. I have tagged this post for staff attention. Someone from the staff will address the issue shortly.

    Hope this points you in the right direction of help.

    Hi – can you please let me know how to renew my BLUHAZL.com domain asap?

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hey,

    I just noticed that the spelling for your site has been different in the initial post and the one after my response.

    buhazl.com

    is available for purchase, whereas

    BLUHAZL.com

    is already registered.

    Presuming the site you need help with is BLUHAZL.com, we cannot help you with the domain renewal process as your domain is not registered with WordPress.com. If BLUHAZL.COM is the site you wish to renew, it is hosted by wildest domains. Please contact your hosting provider for renewal related questions, Wildwest domain in your case.

    I hope this points you in the right direction of help.

  • The domain expiration -> available again as new process can take up to a year. There’s also no notification given before the domain is released. Basically, you’d need to try and register it as new, 1-2x per day, until it becomes available. Even then, you have to hope that no one (or a squatter) gets to it before you. It’s not an ideal situation.

    The domain redemption process only takes 2-3 days. The redemption fee is $80 and the domain registration is $18. The total would be $98. Please let us know if you’d like to do that.

    HI – YES, I WOULD LIKE TO DO THE DOMAIN REDEMPTION AND PAY $98 AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. HOW DO I DO THIS?

  • Unknown's avatar

    @mywritingmuscle Note that wildwestdomains.com is a partner that has often been used by WordPress.com to register domains so this was the correct place for the OP to ask for assistance. It also pays to look at the Domain status and expiry date displayed on the “Whois” as expired domains are time-sensitive in case they can be retrieved before they reach the redemption stage (which unfortunately this one had).

    @themagicrobot,

    Firstly I am sorry for misleading the OP. This piece of information is something I was unaware of. I will read up about it and fill in the gaps in my knowledge of hosting providers and redemption stages for domains.

    I will make sure to be more careful in the future. Your inputs are valuable to me and appreciate you taking the time to point me in the right direction. It helps me be more efficient.

    Thank you very much.

    @mywritingmuscle You’re welcome. We’re all on a learning curve here considering the constant changes at WordPress.com. I assume you’ve seen:

    Apologies for interrupting your thread. I hope staff can successfully recover your domain. I’ll add a modlook tag in case staff-blorbo isn’t currently available.

    Domain Expiration

  • Thanks, all of you.

    @laticiaxoxo
    , I’ve created an invoice for you and emailed it to you. Please update us here as soon as that is paid so we can work on getting the domain back. Once it’s paid we can likely have it back within roughly 1 business day (if you’ll pay quickly). If we cannot get it back, we will refund you. Thanks!

  • Unknown's avatar

    HI! I JUST PAID THE INVOICE! Thank you so much. Please let me know when the site is able to be back up and running. thank you so much!

  • @laticiaxoxo thanks. We’re reaching out to the registrar now. It might be Monday before we hear back since we’re heading into a weekend, but we’ll let you know as soon as we have word.

    Also, after we’ve added this back to your account, please be sure to set up auto renewal so you won’t lose the domain again next year. Or, if you don’t want to use auto renew, you’ll have an invoice by early March and can pay it then, so you can avoid the redemption fee.

  • Hi @laticiaxoxo!

    I’m just writing to let you know that your domain bluhazl.com was successfully restored to your account.

    If there’s anything else we can help with, let us know!
