domain renewal after expiration
Hello, I noticed that my domain is expired. ( mrphonic.com)
However I thought I had automatisc renewal active, so I didn’t pay attention.
What can I do to reactivate my domain.
I already renewed the domain, but this didn’t help. Many thanks.

Hi Benny,
It looks like you renewed the Domain Mapping upgrade, which actually doesn’t renew the registration. It’s a completely separate upgrade unfortunately. I’ve refunded your payment while we figure out the best step forward regarding the domain.
Our records show that mrphonic.com expired 73 days ago on 8/11/14. Domain expiration is a lengthy and complicated process that takes about 80 days. During this time, your domain may be put up for auction or sold on back-order. You can learn more about domain expiration here:
The good news is that we may still be able to recover your domain if it has not yet been deleted or purchased by someone else. A late renewal fee of $80 will be added to the regular price of renewal. This fee is charged by the domain registry and is not one which we can waive. I went ahead and emailed a payment request form to your email address.
The total price will be $106, which is $26 for the regular renewal plus the $80 late renewal fee.
Please reply back if you have submitted the payment so we can begin the recovery process. If we are unable to recover your domain your payment will be refunded.
If you do not wish to pay the $80 fee you may let the domain expiration process continue and attempt to register the domain again at the regular price once it has expired completely.
Please note that someone else may purchase the domain first, in which case you will be unable to register it again, but if you prefer this option just let us know and we’ll be happy to provide you further instructions.

Hello,
Thank you for your help and input.
I will go ahead with the payment, that is not a problem.
However: I thought that Automatic renewal was activated for my domain, it is a bit odd that the automatic wasn’t that automatic after all.
Will do the payment later (at the latest by the end of the weekend)
All my best

Hi Benny,
I’m not seeing any error logs surrounding auto renewal failing so I’m honestly not sure what happened here. Perhaps auto renewal was disabled for some reason (expired card perhaps). Please let me know if you have any trouble making the payment!

Thanks Benny! I’ve reached out to the registrar to renew the domain. I’ll let you know as soon as I know whether we were successful or not. If the domain cannot be renewed for whatever reason, I will refund your payment.

Hi Benny,
Unfortunately, the domain is already listed as “Pending Delete” at the registrar, meaning we will not be able to renew it at this point. I have refunded your renewal payment to your account.
If you’d like to renew your ownership of this domain, your best bet is to wait until the domain is available to register again. Once the domain has been released by our registrar, you can register it once more by following this guide:

Hey Jeremey,
Ok, thanks for your help.
Is there a time and date when the domain will be deleted so that I know when to look out for renewal?Thx
Grtz

Hi Benny,
Unfortunately, we have no control over when the domain will be released again for purchase. That is entirely controlled by the registrar so I can’t give you an exact timeframe. However, I would expect this to happen within the next two weeks. You can check the domain here:
http://www.who.is/whois/mrphonic.com
At the top of the screen, the .com version will appear green and read “Available” when the domain is available again for registration.
