Domain Renewal Assistance

    My domain, tharealityis.com is no longer working as of today. I was actually under the impression that it had been transferred from WP to Squarespace when I revamped my site some time ago. However, I am just now finding out that the domain is still with you guys. Since it no longer appear on my WP account, I need to be able to pay for the renewal and ultimately transfer it to Squarespace so all of these matters will be maintained simultaneously, preventing this from happening again. Please advise of how I can go about doing this in a timely fashion as my website is an integral aspect of my business.

    I checked with our registrar and tharealityis.com is now in a redemption period. You can still renew your domain through us, but it is now a more expensive and complicated process to do so. Our registrar charges an $80 late renewal fee in addition to the $26 we charge to renew the domain. The good news is that this is still a chance of reclaiming the domain through this option.

    Your other option is to wait until the redemption period is over so that the domain becomes available for registration again. Domains are usually in redemption for approximately 80 days, but with this option, you run
    the risk of someone else jumping in front of you to purchase the domain before you get the chance.

    Please let me know if you want to proceed with paying the late renewal fee in the attempt to reclaim the domain name. This option is also time sensitive because the domain can be auctioned off to an expired domain bidder.

    I would suggest enabling the auto-renew option so that you will not have to worry about losing control over your domain in the future.

    I’ll be happy to contact the registrar to see if we can restore tharealityis.com to your account, but I cannot guarantee that we will be able to get the domain back. If I am successful, I can send you a manual payment request form for you to repurchase the domain.

    Thanks a million! What about the manual payment request as I don’t see it on our dashboard nor have I received anything via email. We want to make sure all bases are covered so as to avoid this issue in the future.

  • The manual payment was emailed to the owner of the upgrade. I would contact them in regards to that email if you are in charge of paying for the upgrade.

    Hello I am having a similar issue.I want to renew my domain but i do not see an option to do so. In the past I have payed the 26 dollars and it has been fine but unfortunately i can’t even find that option any longer. My site is Purrrr.com

    1. What is or was the domain URL?
    2. What is or the underlying .wordpress.com URL?
    3. Exactly which username account registered the underlying .wordpress.com blog and purchased the upgrade for it?
    4. When was the upgrade purchased?
    5. When did the refund request and upgrade cancellation, or the domain expiration https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/domain-expiration/ take place?

    Hello Darnell,

    I have tried to pay for this and I have had no luck. When I am ready to check out a pop up red tab opens up saying i am trying to pay for multiple things at once but all I am doing is following the links to check out for payment. is there anyway we can resolve this and process my payment.

    You need to pay via the link that Darnell sent you via email, not via the Purchases page. Is that what you’re trying to do?
