Hello, I have a domain that will expire on 9/2/23. I receive emails, but when I go to login to my account using the same email, I get a message
‘User does not exist. Would you like to create a new account?’
I can’t use the account recovery because I do not have a transaction key, activation URL, or 2FA.
I can provide the domain in question. I need to contact support to get access to my domain.
    Thank you.
(I’m using a different account as this is the only way I’ve found to contact wordpress.com)

    WP.com: Yes
    Jetpack: No
    Correct account: Yes

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to moderators and staff)

    Hello there,

Apologies, but we can’t help with your issue directly because we don’t host your site on our WordPress.com managed hosting.

At WordPress.com, we provide a fully managed hosting service with a custom server environment that is specifically optimized for WordPress. Our managed hosting service offers built-in security and performance improvements, along with in-house support for any questions or issues you may have with your site.

We want you to know that you always have the option to migrate your site to WordPress.com, where we can provide you with in-house help to ensure that your website is running smoothly. We have an easy-to-use migration plugin (https://wordpress.org/plugins/wpcom-migration/), which you can use to migrate your site to WordPress.com.

Please note that this feature is only available for Business plan users.

We understand that moving your site may seem like a daunting task, but we believe that the benefits of our fully managed hosting service far outweigh the effort involved in migrating your site. With our optimized server environment and customized version of WordPress, you’ll have access to the best possible hosting service for your WordPress website.

However, if you choose not to migrate your site to WordPress.com, don’t worry! We want to make sure you still receive the help you need. The good news is that the open-source WordPress forums are available to provide you with support. The folks in that forum are experts in WordPress and are in the best position to help you with any issues you may be experiencing.

We hope this information is helpful, and please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or concerns. Thank you!

I know the site is not hosted here, but the domain is registered with WordPress.com – here’s a snippet:

Domain Name: XXXXXXX.com (I’ve x’d out the domain)
    Registry Domain ID: 2056788646_DOMAIN_COM-VRSN
    Registrar WHOIS Server: whois.sawbuck.com
    Registrar URL: http://www.automattic.com/
    http://www.wordpress.com
    Updated Date: 2023-08-13T09:14:11+00:00
    2023-08-13
    Creation Date: 2016-09-02T08:01:37+00:00
    2016-09-02
    Registrar Registration Expiration Date: 2024-09-02T08:01:37+00:00
    2024-09-02
    Registrar: Automattic Inc.

I received an email on Aug 3, 2023 with this sender:

From: WordPress.com <(email visible only to moderators and staff)>
Date: Thu, Aug 3, 2023 at 1:08 AM
Subject: XXXXXXXX.com will expire in 30 days (I’ve x’d out the domain)
    To: <my email> (I’ve removed my email)

But the email address that the above email sent to me is not associated with any account on WordPress.com.

How can I renew my domain?

    Thanks for clarifying!

I do not see any upgrades under your WordPress.com account when I check on our end. You can confirm by visiting this page: https://wordpress.com/me/purchases/

You have not shared the domain URL itself (so we are not able to look directly) but it does appear that it is registered at WordPress.com but is under a different account and not your @c3idesign login.

We are not able to help with account recovery issues here in our public forums, but you can fill out the form here to get direct assistance from our Account Recovery team: https://wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=recovery

On that form you will be asked to provide a transaction ID for your purchase, which is the fastest way to regain access to the account so we can help with you renewal. You can typically find on your credit card statement and we have more info on how to find it here as well: https://wordpress.com/support/billing-history/#retrieving-a-transaction-id

Once you are connected to the correct account we are happy to help you with managing your renewal and any other issues that may need our assistance. Thanks!
