Domain renewal fee for migrating from Google Domains

    Hello,

    In your ‘https://wordpress.com/blog/2023/08/01/transfer-unlimited-google-domains-to-wordpresscom-for-free/’ post, you promise ‘Your renewal price will be the same or even lower than what you were paying with Google Domains—and that goes for every one of the 400+ top-level domains (TLDs) we offer.’

    However, when I check renewal fee it says ‘259 TL’ whereas I pay ‘195 TL’ in Google domains. So, you have to keep your word, or is it a lie?

    Google does not charge for domains in Turkey in USD but in Turkish Liras. It is fixed at 195 TL. It is not a currency conversion. Google always charges for its services in Turkey in a fixed amount of Turkish Liras, not in USD. You can confirm this by checking the attached images of recent Google Domains messages and domain renewal dashboards. This fixed price has been in effect since July 28, 2022.

    WordPress needs to adjust its price from 259 TL to 195 TL to avoid misleading people.
