Domain renewal frustration

  My wordpress domain name is about to expire. When I click on the ‘renew domain’ prompt, I get taken to the ‘Looking to Upgrade’ prompt, with no indication on how to renew the domain name. I need to renew the domain name by tomorrow. Please help.

  But what I think is going on here is that you have a free WordPress.COM account (https://danielrweinfeld.wordpress.com/) and you have your own self-hosted site through WordPress.ORG? So when you click on the renew link, it’s taking you to danielrweinfeld.wordpress.com which doesn’t have any domain renewal associated with it.

  That’s my best guess. We’ll see what Staff says.

  The issue is that the WordPress.com user account that you are posting from is not the owner of that upgrade.

  Typically this happens because you ended up with a second WordPress.com user account at some point and THAT account is the one that was used to purchase the upgrade. You will need to log into that second account in order to renew the upgrade.

  Thanks rootjosh: how do i figure out which account was used to purchase the upgrade? I don’t remember opening another account.
