DOMAIN RENEWAL HELP!!!!

  I received notice to renew my domain name, but wasn’t able to check my account and now need to renew it, but my dashboard shows my domain never expires and there isn’t a place (that I can find) to renew. HELP HELP HELP!!!

  Hi. I never got any notice about my domain, it just stopped working and an error message came up. Like cdbaltz I cant see where to pay for renewal, only to add a new domain. Although mine does say it never expires. My blog is http://www.happyanimals.co.uk. Thanks to anyone that can help.

  Based on your username, your domain registration was expired in July 2010. I will send you email about the details.

  Your domain happyanimals.co.uk is mapped to a WordPress.com blog, but is not registered with us. The domain registration expiration is August 12, 2012 so you’re ok there.

  However, your domain mapping upgrade with us was expired in July.

  What you need to do is to go to the Upgrade panel on your WordPress.com dashboard and add another year of domain mapping. Once that’s done, your custom domain should start working again.

  thanks. When I go to the upgrade and domain page I am not getting a renewal option. Only the add a domain option. I was worried about adding the domain again in case this overwrote what is there. Sorry – I’m very basic in my knowledge. Do I have to add the domain again or should their be a renewal option. Where it said date expires it says never. Thanks for the prompt reply.

  Adding a domain upgrade will not change your domain registration. (mapping and registration are two different things; your registration is all set, you just need a domain mapping upgrade) Since your domain mapping upgrade has been expired for a while, you need to add it as a new upgrade. Let us know if you’re running into any issues while trying to map the domain.

  “Never” for expiration date means your WordPress.com subdomain (e.g. example.wordpress.com) will never expire.
