Domain renewal not showing in my account and site reverted to wpcomstaging URL

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi,

I renewed my domain iqreality.com on August 28th directly through WordPress.com for $19, and the payment was successfully processed. However, after the renewal, the domain disappeared from my account, and my website automatically reverted to the temporary URL https://iqreality.wpcomstaging.com/.

I’ve checked under Upgrades → Domains, but iqreality.com no longer appears there. The renewal transaction is visible in my billing history, so it seems the payment went through but the domain was detached or not restored correctly.

Could someone from the support team please help verify the domain’s status and reattach it to my account/site?

    Thank you for your help

    Hi @fiddniel

I’m not staff, but I can share some guidance:

    • Since you can see the renewal payment in your billing history, the domain is still yours it just isn’t showing correctly in your account right now.
    • Please double-check you’re logged into the same WordPress.com account where the domain was purchased. Sometimes logging in with a different email can hide domains.
    • You can confirm the domain’s status with a quick WHOIS lookup here: ICANN Lookup.

That said, because this involves a domain and billing issue, only WordPress.com staff can reattach the domain to your site. I’d recommend reaching out directly through this link:
    Contact WordPress.com Support

Don’t worry, since the renewal went through, your domain should be safe. Staff will be able to re-sync it for you quickly.
