domain renewal – Property problem – URGENT

    Hi,
    Last december, I renew my domain http://www.mariemichelemartel.com.
    Receipt ID : 2128349
    Transaction ID : [redacted by mod]
    I don’t understand why I can’t access to my content. And I don’t understand why this domain is property of Wildwest. I paid for it. It’s mine.
    Thanks to give me explanations. It’s really important, I need it for my business.

    Hi Marie-Michèle,

    So did you renew your domain at http://www.wildwestdomains.com?

    If so, it’s your property for as long as you keep renewing and paying for it every year. But they will be listed as the domain registrar. It doesn’t mean they own it.

    What content are you having trouble accessing? Are you not able to log in to your site (http://www.mariemichelemartel.com)?

    Actually, my receipt is from WordPress.com.
    But, my host (of my other site) tells me that http://www.mariemichelemartel.com is property of wildwestdomains. But I don’t have informations to log to their site and on WordPress, it says I don’t have a site yet.
    So, I can modify my site.

    @mmmartel5721 – I’ve removed the transaction ID from your first post because that is considered sensitive information and might allow someone to take over your account. If Staff need the information, they will ask you by email.

    I’ve also tagged this for Staff assistance but for me mariemichelemartel.com is mapped to a WordPressdotcom site. Where is it supposed to be pointing?

    It is a WordPress.com site. I paid for it in december. But this week, I wanted to connect it to my other site and my host (not WordPress) told me that he can’t do it because it’s a property of wildwestdomains. But I don’t have any informations to log to wildwestdomains and when I connect to WordPress.com, it says that I don’t have a site yet. I don’t understand why I can’t have access to my site.

    It does look like you might need to be logged in with a different username account, mariemichelemartel. Do you have access to that account?

    If you bought a domain through WordPressdotcom, you are the domain owner. If you need to change the name servers to point to your new hosting provider, you’ll first need to be logged in with the correct account that purchased the domain upgrade.

    Hi Marie-Michèle,

    You are logged in as ‘mmmartel5721’ but the domain is owned by another user, ‘mariemichelemartel’.

    Only the domain owner can renew the domain. You will need to log in to that account in order to do so.

    And I don’t understand why this domain is property of Wildwest. I paid for it. It’s mine.

    Wild West Domains is our domain registrar partner — you do not need to log in anywhere but your own WordPress.com account.
