Domain renewal without the mapping

  Hi,
  I would like to renew my Domain name but would like to use it on another website. How can I do this without the mapping? Is the domain held with WordPress? Or is it a separate company?

  Please help, the renewal dead-line is tomorrow.

  Hi there,

  Domain registration and mapping are offered as a package here at WordPress.com. It’s not possible to register or renew a domain without also registering or renewing mapping.

  Your best bet would be to renew the domain at Store → Domains in your dashboard, and then change your name servers to point the domain to a different hosting provider:

  http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/domain-management/#update-nameservers

  Your new host should be able to supply you with the proper name server values.
