Domain renovation

Hello. I purchased a domain through WordPress last year, and this year, and shortly AFTER its automatic renovation I migrated to another server. Everything was working fine until last week, when my website went down and the system now tells me that I haven´t renovated the plan, and on the new server says I do not own the domain anymore. I’d like to have it fixed as soon as possible, since I use the website to run my business. Does anyone know how to proceed with this issue?

Hi there,
The credit card we have on file for you expired in August, so we could not use it to renew your domain when it expired at the end of September.
I have confirmed that the domain is now in Redemption. I should still be able to get it back for you, but our registrar charges a $80 fee to restore a domain once it reaches this point. I’ll need you to agree to that fee before I can get the process started.

But how come I was not notified that the renovation did not happen, or that the credit card was rejected? The website was running smoothly until late October, so I could never imagine that something had gone bad. I don’t see it as purely my fault, since I was receiving emails from WordPress saying “The domain will be renewed – You don´t need to do anything”, so I don´t think is fair that I have to cover all these extra fee by myself to get it back.
How can we proceed from here? -

We don’t send an email if a credit card on file expires, as we have no way to tell that until we try to renew the domain and try to make a charge against the card. It looks like we did email you after the renewal failed on 22 September saying that the domain had expired and that you need to renew it.
If you did not receive that email you’ll need to follow up with your email provider.

I have sent a payment link for the recovery and renewal costs. I’ll be notified once we receive payment, and then I can contact our registrar to restore the domain. Should the recovery fail you will be refunded in full.

I didn´t receive any link. Could it be because my email associated to my wordpress account is the one which I created with my domain, and now the mXRecords don´t let me receive those emails anymore? It would also explain why I haven´t received the “domain expired” email

That is the problem, yes. I didn’t spot that. Can you provide me a different email address where I can send the link for you? If you type the address on its own line it will be hidden from view, but I’ll be able to see it.

So I never got the word that the domain was expired…
anyway, you can send it to (email visible only to moderators and staff)
I’ll consider if I will pay for it now or if I’ll buy a new domain.Thanks for the help
