Domain security flag when posting
-
I recently purchased a domain for my blog through my wordpress.com dashboard, following all the steps to the letter, then redirected it to my blog as normal. Since then, whenever I try to use the “new post” option from the black bar at the top of the screen, I keep getting a security risk in Firefox, with the following:
“spiritsofeden.com uses an invalid security certificate.
The certificate is only valid for the following names:
*.wordpress.com , wordpress.com(Error code: ssl_error_bad_cert_domain)”
Should I just add a security exception and go on my merry way, or is there a possibility of a serious problem?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I’m using Firefox too and get it occasionally in different parts of the site/dashboard.
Looks like a WordPress issue. For now, just ignore it – I trust WordPress.

Looks like it’s doing it to you because you have a custom domain, and the certificate is only valid for name.wordpress.com and wordpress.com itself.
Hopefully it gets fixed. -
I guess I’ll just add the exception and go on. It only happens with the New Post in the top bar, which is really convenient and something I’ve grown accustomed to. Posting from the dashboard still works with no problems, so I guess it’s just being titchy. Thanks.

@wyattsalazar I recommend contacting staff and see if they can help you resolve this matter here is their contact link http://support.wordpress.com/contact

You won’t get the error posting from http://spiritsofeden.wordpress.com/wp-admin/ which is your real dashboard address.
Looks like the dashboard link in the top bar is wrong, I’ll ask someone to look into that.
Adding an exception will work around it till then.
