Domain set-up

Hello, a couple of nights ago I tried to build a blog site with wordpress and purchased a starter plan, including a free domain name for £36. After hourrs of trying, I found the whole experience far too difficult/painful, so deleted the blog and cancelled my plan. I have gone to try again, only to find the domain I wanted is no longer available… Does this mean I still own it? And if I do, how do I access it?

It’s not a great idea to cancel if you still wanted to use the domain going forward. If you cancelled the upgrade then you no longer own the domain. It may be released in a week or so (or not) in which case you could register it again (either with another plan here or by buying it somewhere else …but you may find that at somewhere else the experience could be even more difficult than here where you have access to support from staff….) so this thread is tagged for staff assistance.

Looks like you were working on autofeminist.com. Is that right?
The domain will be available to register as new, with another provider 5 days after the cancellation. It’s in a limbo period right now. If you’d like to proceed sooner we can restore it to your account. Then you can point the domain to the new provider through dns records.
