domain shouldn't be going to WordPress

  • Unknown's avatar

I recently deleted my WordPress website but my domain (carrieblanche.com) still seems to be directed to it rather than Weebly, which is where it should be landing. This is the message I keep getting from WordPress when i go to my website using Chrome (on my phone or laptop):

Warning! Domain mapping upgrade for this domain not found. Please log in and go to the Domains Upgrades page of your blog to use this domain.
Can you please help me get my domain out of WordPress and get it successfully moved to Weebly?

  • Hi there,

That domain is not pointing to or connected to us at all any more, but your browser might still be remembering the old location of that domain. If you clear your browser cache it should update and show the correct site instead.

I did just that yesterday and again today and I still can’t load the site on my macbook, chromebook or cell phone regardless of the browser I use. I really think the problem is on your end. By the way, other people can see my website…but I cannot. I know this is weird and I’ve been trying to get it fixed for days now. I’m wondering if you were to re-point my website to wordpress and then release it again, it might solve the problem. What do you think?

    Thanks for your help.

How long ago did you change your domain’s name servers? Name server records are stored on several actual servers (computers) around the world, and they don’t all update instantly when you change your domain’s name server settings. It can take as long as 72 hours for them all to update, and during that time your site will be visible to some people and not to others, depending on what server they’re connecting to.

Your domain is correctly loading your Weebly site for me as well.

You can try that, but we cannot do it, as we don’t have any control over or access to your domain. Name servers are set at your domain registrar, i.e. the provider where your domain is registered. So for your domain that would be enom.com/Weebly if you bought the domain via Weebly.
