Domain shows as “Active” but still prompts me to “Point to WordPress”

I recently transferred a domain from GoDaddy to WordPress. The transfer is complete, and the domain now says “Active.” However, to the right of the word “Active” is a button that says “Point to WordPress.com.”

I’ve done everything I can think of to make sure it’s pointed correctly. The domain is my site’s primary domain, and it is using WordPress name servers. But the domain is still not pointed to my site.

It has been about two weeks since I successfully completed the transfer from GoDaddy. Can someone please help me figure out how to correct this issue?

  • Hi there,

I’ve updated your domain’s DNS records and now it is properly pointing to your WordPress.com site.

Your domain is fully active, and you should be able to see your site live on your domain without any more trouble. Sometimes, changes like these can take a little while to propagate across the internet, so if it doesn’t show up immediately, give it a bit of time.

If you have any more questions, need further assistance, or if there’s anything else you’d like to do with your site, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

I am having this same issue. I recently transferred my domain from domain.com and it says Active but it has the “Point to WordPress.com” button next to it and when I try to visit the site it brings me to an old site.
