  I was wondering if I bought a domain for my blog and then maybe in a few months moved from WordPress to my own site, would I be able to use the domain there? or will it only ever be for WordPress?

  If you register a custom domain name here (your-cool-site.com) and decide to use it on another web site not hosted here you are free to do that –
