Domain suspended

Does anyone know how to get my domain up and running again? I missed the November verification emails.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Perhaps you mean the .com one that expired months ago and now says:-

“PENDINGDELETE — The domain expired and is no longer available for redemption. The registry is about to erase it”.

I believe a domain name remains in this status for a few days before it is deleted. I presume once that period has elapsed the domain will be free for you to register it again (if no-one else has snapped it up).

You’re absolutely right. I checked InterNIC and my domain is pending deletion. It’s handled through a WordPress-outsourced third-party registrar.

Do you know if there is a way I can get my domain back without it expiring? The registrar who owns it can’t do anything on their end since WordPress.com handles all the account info logistics.

  • Hi there,

Once a domain enters the pendingDelete status there is no way at all to get it back any more. That status means the registrar has already notified the domain registry to delete that domain, and from there the domain is usually released in about a week.

Which is the good news. Provided someone doesn’t have your domain on back order with another registrar, you should be able to register that domain again when it’s released some time next week. As we don’t control this process I can’t tell you exactly when, but I see your domain entered pendingDelete on 20 December and this status typically only lasts a few days.

I suggest you start checking every day if you’re able to register that domain again.
