Domain through Hover; want to change to WP

  Last summer I registered my domain through Hover, and set it up through WordPress. I’d like to register it through wordpress and keep it all in one place Do I have to wait for it to expire at hover first?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  WordPress.COM is not set up for incoming domain registration transfers – your only real option is to keep the registration not at WordPress.COM – there are many companies that do domain registration transfers

  The problem with letting a domain name expire is the domain stops working for around 60 days and you get ZERO traffic for it and search engines get used to your domain name going to some blank page or a parking page – that will kill search traffic for some time – then add that the registrar can auction off your domain name or it can be sold to someone else and you would loose the domain name completely

  If you go with another registrar – most of them allow you to register the domain for several years (long enough that you need to write down the passwords and account names as you will forget what you did)
