domain title

I am in the process (1st time user) of creating a ‘E-Commerce’ account. I asked for the domain name of ‘bdqproducts.com’ and during the certifying process I noticed that the domain was titled ‘bdqproducts.wordpress.com’. I need the the domain to be titled as I originally asked, how can we make this happen?
    Thank you for your help,
    Josh

  • Hi Josh,

When you create a new site, you always get a .wordpress.com domain.

If you want to only have bdqproducts.com, you need to add a custom domain. Here is some helpful documentation on how that works.

    https://wordpress.com/support/domains/register-domain/

If you’ve signed up for one of the paid plans, you get a domain name free for 1 year.

    https://wordpress.com/pricing/

    I hope that helps.

    Cheers,
    Eric

  • @buchanan5700, I just want to add: you’ll always have a free address as a base. When you add a custom domain with a plan, your site will still exist at the free address, but your domain will be the primary address for the site. Let us know if you need more help!
