I’d like to build my new website on wordpress, but would like my existing weebly site to stay live until i complete my new build. Is this possible? In this case should I wait till its completed to transfer domain?

Hi there!
Your idea is completely feasible. Keep a live site on Wix while you build the replacement at WordPress.com. When you are ready to go live with the WordPress.com site, you can transfer your domain to WordPress.com.
If you have a lot of content that you want to bring over from Wix, you might be interested in these instructions for importing content:

Hello again!
I am posting again to add an additional suggestion and link from another recent support thread about moving from Wix.
To prepare for transferring your domain away from Wix, be sure to read this Wix support page:

Hello again! :-)
For what it’s worth, there are plugins to import Weebly sites to WordPress.org sites, but using those with a WordPress.com site requires a Business plan upgrade.
If you are buying the Business plan anyway and you have a lot of content to move, it could be worthwhile to ask staff for guidance on the best way to move the content. They may have a favorite plugin or other ideas.
Good luck!
