Domain Transfer

  Looking to launch site within 20-30 days of initial draft. Having trouble with the duration requirement restrictions that make us unable to transfer a brand new domain until February 8th. Unfortunately if we’re not able to get the site live before that date, we’ll be forced to explore other website builder providers. (Ps. We like WordPress, please help :))

  Hi there!

  If what you mean is that you’d like to transfer to WordPress.com a newly registered domain, that won’t be possible.

  New domains have a 60-day lock, this lock is required by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) and cannot be waived. You can read more about it here.

  That said, you can still use your domain before that time by mapping it:

  https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/
