Domain Transfer

Purchased a domain name from another registrar, but managing all of the details (like installing Positive SSL Certificate was beyond me – email told me to do it correctly, provided link to instructions, but link went to a general menu and not to the instructions I needed to do it). Too many things required in managing site that I was unfamiliar with and ‘help’ files left out steps to guide novices, so I cancelled. Does WordPress handle that stuff for you or do you have be knowledgeable in site management to have a web page with WP?

WordPress.com is much easier than creating/managing a site with the WordPress.org software.

Did you cancel everything including the domain? You can register a domain here at WordPress.com free for the first year with a paid plan if that is where you now intend to be. If you still own the domain then by purchasing a plan and creating a site at WordPress.com you could map/transfer your existing domain to that site.
