Domain transfer

  I have a website and pay an annual fee for a website domain (.jp). I want to work on my new wordpress website and transfer the domain (and close the old website) when it is ready to launch. Is this possible? Seems like I have to pick a new address or transfer the old one before I make it public.

  Yes :) This is a very common question. Go ahead and build your new site on WordPress.com. Import your content, customize the theme, get it all ready to launch.

  Keeping the new site private will help prevent any SEO confusion since you’re going to have the same content on two different addresses.
