  Hello, I am transferring a domain name I already own but am afraid of doing the transfer as I want to keep my old site live until this site is ready to launch. Wondering how to continue on the domain page. :)

  Hi Ally,

  you can work on your WordPress.com site using the free subdomain and transfer or map your custom domain only once you’re ready :)

  When you’re prompted to choose a domain, click on the free subdomain and Skip purchase.
