    i have a current website created with wix. i’m looking to switch to wordpress, but am slightly confused with the process of switching hosts. if i switch my domain host to wordpress does that mean i lose my current wix website? what’s the best process to switch hosts?

    A domain is just an address with which people will access your site. If you transfer your domain to WordPress.com, it will point your visitors to your WordPress.com site but it doesn’t mean the Wix site disappeared, it just wouldn’t be accessible with that address. I’m not sure if Wix gives you a free address that you can use without a custom domain but if that’s the case, your site would be using that free address instead.
