Domain transfer

  Hi
  I’m looking to build a website for my existing company using WordPress, and coming away from Wix. Can I look to build a website on WordPress first, and link my URL to it at a later date?

  Hi Matt,

  sure thing, you can create a free site using a free subdomain (make sure you choose one ending with .wordpress.com or .home.blog – you’ll see it says free right next to it).
  You can then upgrade and register, map or transfer a custom domain whenever you’re ready.
