  Before I transfer a domain, is it possible to build a website on the Business plan first? The reason I ask this is because the domain I wish to transfer is currently in use on our website hosted elsewhere, if it transfers to WordPress I may not have new website ready!. Thankyou for your help.

  Yes, that’s possible. You’ll be able to use a temporary address (.wpcomstaging.com) to build your site and you can transfer the domain at a later time.
