Domain Transfer

  Is there a way I can start to build my site now and transfer the domain later? My domain was only registered in April so it isn’t eligible for transferring until the 6th June.

  Sure thing, you can keep the free WordPress.com subdomain for the time being, or you can map your domain to your site:

  https://wordpress.com/support/domains/map-existing-domain/

  Mapping is free with any of our paid plans.

  I’ve set it up with the WordPress domain.

  How do I eventually transfer my domain over?

  I don’t see an option for this anywhere

  After you have purchased one of our paid plans, you will be able to use your custom domain as your primary address for your WordPress.com site.

  You can either map it – your domain will stay with the current registrar and you’ll need to go to their site to manage anything domain related.

  Or you can transfer the domain to WordPress.com and we’ll be your new registrar. This way you’ll manage everything from one place and you’ll be able to reach support with any domain related-issues :)
