Domain transfer

Hi there! I transferred my domain kirstentravels.com years ago from here. I bought it through you guys and managed to transfer to my host at the time – Hostgator – and then again transferred to Elitehost. A few years later I finished the hosting. However I was never able to take ownership of the domain – aka the WHOIS always stayed with WordPress.com
Now I want the site back up and running and am unable to repurchase the domain. Please advise how I can do this – since I was the only owner of it ever.

The Whois doesn’t mention WordPress.com now.
Perhaps you let the domain expire as it was registered in April so if that wasn’t you it looks like you have lost the domain.Domain:kirstentravels.com

Hi there,
That domain registration was moved away from us on 13 September 2016, and we haven’t had control over any aspect of that domain since that date.
The current registrar for that domain is https://www.onamae.com/, so it looks like your domain was bought by a domain squatter after it expired at your last domain provider. You’ll need to contact them directly if you want to try and buy back that domain from the current owner.
