Domain transfer

  I purchased a domain name through a company and stored it at the same time. There are still 5 years before the domain name expires. Is the purchased domain name valid when I switch to wordpress or is it recalculated?

  Howdy – It sounds like you have owned the domain for longer than 60 days, which means you are now free to transfer the domain to another host/registrar. If that’s not the case, let us know.

  When you transfer a domain, the registration terms you have purchased previously come along with it. This means if you purchased 5 years of registration, you will still have 5 years of registration when you transfer it to WordPress.com.
