I currently purchased my domain with namesilo and it shows it would expire in june 2022. I want to know if I transfer my domain to wordpress.com, would I get an additional free year and extend my domain expiry date to june 2023?

Hi there,
No, it does not work like that. Your domain will still need to be paid for before the time of expiry. WordPress.com does not have control over that.

According to the support guide at https://wordpress.com/support/move-domain/incoming-domain-transfer/ it mentions that under certain circumstances an incoming domain transfer is extended for an additional year:
As part of the transfer process, your domain will be renewed for an additional year. If your domain has already been renewed to the maximum possible term (ten years for most TLDs, though shorter for some country-code TLDs), it won’t be possible to transfer until the domain becomes eligible for renewal again.
Please also note that new domain registrations cannot be transferred from their original registrar for the first 60 days after registration. This is an ICANN regulation that cannot be waived.
In all cases, to use a custom domain (mapped or transferred) on a WordPress.com website requires a paid plan. https://wordpress.com/pricing/

@justjennifer is correct. If you purchase a plan and transfer your domain to us, then it will automatically be renewed for another year.
