domain transfer

  Hello, if I create a website here on WordPress with a new domain so that I may start building a new site for our business when I am finished can I transfer my old domain from my previous site to the new site I have created? We are using another platform for our website currently, however, it isn’t working out for us so we decided to switch to WordPress. We cannot transfer the domain just yet because then we would have no content on our website. We have estimated that importing all of our previous content would take us around the same amount of time to build a new site. We would like to transfer our domain from our old site to our new site when it is finished, that way we have a working website while we are working to finish the new one. Is this action possible?

  Hi there,

  Yes this is no problem. You are welcome to get your new site fully set up at the wordpress.com address we assign (at time of site creation) and then when you are fully ready you can connect your custom domain to this site, which will “launch” it to replace the existing site you have at that address.
