Domain transfer

  I bought a domain on Namecheap a year ago and I wanna make a WordPress on it. How do I do that and do I need to pay any additional money? Thank you

  Hey @westookie,

  Few steps here. Firstly you’ll require a ‘Personal’ plan or higher to use a custom domain with your WordPress.com website:
  https://wordpress.com/pricing/

  Then regarding the domain name you have registered with NameCheap you have two options;

  1. Domain Transfer – transfer your domain over to your WordPress.com account.
  2. Domain Mapping – leave your domain with NameCheap, but point to WordPress.com website.

  I personally find changing registrar the better solution, as it all sits under the one roof. But it’s down to choice.
